What You Can Expect Working in the Inventory Clerk Position

The Inventory Clerk assists the Inventory Specialist in ensuring the accurate and timely receiving storage and disbursement of materials tools equipment and products for the Production team.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with regular counts of inventory and adjusts records as needed.
  • Pulls and delivers required material to the respective production location as required.
  • Provides superior service to counter customers and performs accurate and timely record keeping ensuring material shows on hand and is charged to the appropriate work order or job.
  • Upon receipt of materials inspects shipment to verify all materials match purchase order/packing list.
  • Maintains an organized clean and professional looking storeroom and ensures proper storage of materials in their designated areas.
  • Maintains organized files of packing lists for quality inspections if required.
  • Works in a safe manner following all company safety procedures.
  • Properly maintains all equipment used (truck forklifts etc.) and reports any major repairs required.
  • Properly packages materials for outbound shipments to prevent damage.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid drivers license and ability to operate a forklift.
  • Excellent communication skills with manufacturing workers purchasing department and outside vendors.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
  • Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations.

  • Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Prolonged periods sitting standing climbing bending and kneeling.
  • Must have manual dexterity a good sense of balance and excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • The worker is frequently required to operate machinery and/or power tools.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
