Graduate Research Assistant needed to work with Dr. Pranshoo Solankis grant. This graduate research assistant will be responsible to work on a research project entitled Development of Guidelines for Applications of Polymer Concrete. The objective of this study is to develop comprehensive guidelines for specific precast polymer concrete (PC) applications ensuring optimal performance utilization and safety across various applications. This will be achieved by analyzing existing standards and literature and survey of precast industries and suppliers. Specific duties of the graduate assistant are listed below in addition to other duties as assigned.
- Collect and summarize literature in the area of applications of polymer concrete
- Contact and visit selected precast concrete industry members for preparing/disseminating survey questions for developing guidelines for the applications of polymer concrete
- Create survey using Qualtrics
- Analyze and interpret collected survey responses
- Prepare quarterly reports and assist in the preparation of final report
- Write manuscript from the research work for possible publication
- Participate and prepare PowerPoint presentation for semi-monthly updates of the project
$755 for 0.25 FTE appointment
- Detail-oriented critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Good writing and oral communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team
- Technical skills including Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel Word and PowerPoint) and Qualtrics
