Caterpillar Indonesia Batam is seeking a dynamic Material Requirement Planning Manager to lead inventory strategy and execution ensuring a seamless flow of raw materials and components from the supply chain to our manufacturing operations. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence by managing agreed-upon inventory levels analyzing trends and optimizing material availability to support production goals. Youll lead a team of materials planning professionals collaborate across functions and apply lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and accuracy. This position requires the candidate to work a 5-day-a-week schedule in the office.
Travel Requirement: 5%
You will work in an office environment.
Domestic relocation is available for this position.
What You Will Do:
Managing the environment of the inventory stockroom is in line with requirements for each product.
Managing staffing development and performance management of materials management workers. Ensuring proper labor relations.
Defining and maintaining optimal inventory levels. Performing inventory analysis and making recommendations for stock levels.
Coordinating maintenance and support of inventory management software.
What Skills You Have:
Information Capture: Knowledge of the methods channels and processes to obtain needed information; ability to identify capture and document relevant business information in an auditable organized understandable and easily retrievable manner.
Planning: Tactical Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term) tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches tools techniques for recognizing anticipating and resolving organizational operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Inventory Management: Knowledge of processes and methods of inventory management; ability to effectively manage organizations materials commodities merchandises or products.
Logistics Management: Knowledge of the processes tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand predict and control the movement of goods materials and supplies.
Supply Chain Management: Knowledge of functions principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and implement strategies practices and tools for controlling the whole processes.
What Will Set You Apart:
Educational Background: Candidates hold a bachelors degree ideally in Supply Chain or a related discipline.
Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience in supply chain operations is required including at least 2 years specifically in material requirement planning and 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
Language Proficiency: Strong English communication skills are essential for collaboration across global teams.
Experience or certification in lean methodologies is preferred to support Caterpillar Indonesia Batams commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Physical Requirements (With or Without Reasonable Accommodation):
This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs and steps lifting devices and pushing and pulling equipment.
