DescriptionJob Summary
The NOC Systems Analyst monitors maintains and troubleshoots Lifepoint Healths enterprise network systems to ensure optimal performance security and availability. This role primarily supports evening and night shift operations in a 24x7 environment. Key responsibilities include using network monitoring tools to detect and resolve issues performing routine maintenance and updates configuring hardware and collaborating with IT teams to optimize the network infrastructure. The analyst also provides technical support documents network configurations and responds to alerts and outages to safeguard company data and ensure business continuity.
Minimum Education
- Associate degree in Computer Networking or equivalent work experience
Minimum Work Experience
- At least 1 year of experience supporting and monitoring network systems servers or storage in an enterprise environment
- Previous NOC experience strongly preferred
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Technical knowledge of TCP/IP routers switches firewalls
- Experience with network troubleshooting and security best practices
- Certifications: CCNA or CompTIA Network preferred
- Strong problem-solving communication and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g. ServiceNow HP Service Manager Cherwell)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel OneNote)
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g. Microsoft SCOM Tivoli ITM SolarWinds Orion LogicMonitor)
- Basic understanding of broadband/fiber circuits DHCP services LANs
- Knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems
- Working knowledge of Cisco devices; Fortinet experience preferred
- Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to provide remote support and guide end users through troubleshooting
Essential Functions
- Monitor LAN/WAN systems routers switches firewalls VoIP systems servers storage backup operating systems and core applications
- Use performance monitoring tools to detect outages failing equipment and network performance issues
- Respond promptly to incidents outages and performance alerts
- Categorize and escalate issues based on business impact
- Notify customers and third-party service providers of issues and remediation status
- Troubleshoot remote site outages and coordinate with ISPs and network engineers
- Coordinate replacement and configuration of failed network equipment
- Schedule tech dispatches with third-party vendors for remote site troubleshooting and equipment replacement
- Document all troubleshooting steps resolutions and escalation processes
- Manage physical access to the Louisville Data Center including vendor and IS personnel access
- Administer corporate printers and print queues including DHCP reservations DNS records and printer configurations
- Execute basic server management tasks via VMWare or RDP
- Support multiple technical teams in a 24x7 operational environment with a focus on evening/night shift coverage
- Coordinate network cutovers and upgrades to minimize service disruptions
- Collaborate with corporate IS departments to improve network functionality and identify underperforming equipment
Collaboration & Support
- Work with other IT departments and vendors to optimize network performance and isolate interruptions
- Provide technical expertise and support for network-related incidents
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations procedures and troubleshooting steps
- Manage vendor coordination and hardware support
- Serve as a key contact for customer inquiries and issue resolution
