The Ohio Industrial Commission (OIC) Office of Fiscal Management is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Chief Fiscal Officer who is eager to leverage her/his expertise embrace daily challenges and demonstrate her/his adaptability while providing direction and leadership to support staff. The selected individual must have strong financial management and analytical skills and display a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Under the direction of the Director of Fiscal Management/Chief Fiscal Officer (CFO):
Administers all activities related to Financial Reporting including preparation of periodic Statement of Operations Statement of Cash Flow Net Assets Budget Summary various purchasing & expenditure reports & depreciation statements COGNOS (OAKS Business Intelligence) report development & implementation. Ensures adherence to statutory reporting provisions.
Coordinates activities to prepare annual expenditure plans analyzes variance & recommends needed procedure changes; administers/modifies procedures to improve accuracy efficiency timeliness & completeness of Fiscal transactions including purchase orders payment card invoice payments OAKS travel expense electronic data interface payments Intrastate Transfer Vouchers (ISTVs) revenue receipts & various other fiscal documents; evaluates & recommends process improvements; administers controls for all accounts receivables & payables.
Prepares Requests to Purchase & Controlling Board requests; reviews worker compensation related legislation & assesses potential fiscal impact; provides guidance to managers regarding the impact of revised or new various rules & directives issued by OBM DAS Auditor & Treasurer of State.
Develops procedures for the review & testing of Purchasing & AP operational controls including the audit checks process & recommends solutions for sound processing.
Serves as fiscal liaison in order to coordinate applicable fiscal rules & procedures to sections within the agency.
Acts in the capacity of the Director of Fiscal Management/CFO during his/her absence including activities related to purchase authorization voucher authorization approves/disapproves leave etc.

This position is filled through an assessment consisting of a structured interview. The interview will be administered in person at the William Green Building in Columbus Ohio.
This position may require travel; therefore the person occupying this position must be able to provide his/her own transportation &/or legally operate a state-owned vehicle.
