SUMMARY
This position will assist in the maintenance and support of the district network including all hardware and software on various technology platforms.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of the district network including all forms of district hardware and software
  • Lead role in ensuring projects are completed accurately and in a timely manner reporting & documenting progress.
  • Implement and execute all projects as assigned.
  • Troubleshoot and repair network connectivity.
  • Install operating systems and various software products.
  • Work with various departments as needed with projects involving the network infrastructure and associated applications.
  • Repair PC computers and Chromebooks
  • Find solutions to problems and challenges through researching electronic resources or working with vendor support.
  • Help end users understand and maintain computers printers and other devices.
  • Consult with other technology services and supervisors about complex technical and operational issues.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two-year Degree in Computer Networks or a related field.
  • A certification preferred; Microsoft and/or Cisco certifications are a plus.
  • Three-plus years of experience in IT or systems troubleshooting.
  • Valid drivers license and an acceptable driving record.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Significant knowledge of maintaining Microsoft Windows Operating Systems Office Products and Chrome OS.
  • Proven skills in connecting and configuring various peripherals such as:
    • Printers
    • Wireless access points
    • Security cameras
    • LCD projectors
    • Document cameras
    • Sound systems
  • Team-focused with excellent written and oral communication skills (friendly and clear).
  • Ability to work independently determine priorities and manage time effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to document completed work and update users on the status of their requests.
  • Comfortable operating under stressful conditions including managing multiple requests for support simultaneously.
  • Possess life skills such as:
    • The ability to use/operate hand tools.
    • Lift heavy equipment.
    • Operate in tight spaces.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR Director of Technology

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT As provided by PSE contract. Subject to the needs of the District.

Verification of identity and United States work authorizationmust becompleted before employment commences. The successful candidate for thispositionmust complete a fingerprinted background check with the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Employment is contingent upon clearance of the background check.
