SUMMARY: The Shipping and Cooler Manager is responsible for management of the shipping and cooler operations. This also position reviews and updates inventory in appropriate systems and databases; ensures appropriate safety procedures and policies are in place and adhered to and that operations in the department run smoothly daily.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

Hires trains and evaluates shipping and cooler team members; schedules staff as necessary to ensure adequate staffing.
Reviews and updates inventory.
Coordinate the load out schedule with in-house distribution and outside contractors to ensure the timely and accurate load out and receiving of products.
Track delivery progress of shipments; receive incoming shipments and compare/verify items to work orders.
Oversee the preparation shipping paperwork including verifying documentation packaging conformance to product requirements shipper manifest and bills of lading.
Record damaged or defective items and replace them according to company policies.
Maintain shipping and receiving records/documents.
Maintain safe secure and healthy environment by adhering to organization standards and policies.
Help develop objectives and standards for shipping/receiving personnel and department as well as monitoring results for process improvements.
Ensure the plant HACCP Plan is implemented and followed by all team members.
Ensure compliance with Sanitation SOPs for all areas by all team members.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will have supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required
- Bachelors Degree or related field or equivalent experience AND 5 years of progressively responsible manufacturing shipping cooler and/or poultry plant experience
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong computer skills
- Supervisory experience
- Valid state issued drivers license and a clean motor vehicle record
