Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project / Portfolio Manager to support a California State client in managing and delivering complex projects. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills proven experience managing enterprise-level projects and expertise in portfolio governance. This is a remote role requiring the ability to work independently while engaging with diverse stakeholders across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large-scale IT and business projects from initiation through closure.
- Oversee project portfolio governance ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and goals.
- Develop project charters schedules budgets and risk management plans.
- Manage project scope timelines deliverables and resources.
- Provide regular project status reports and executive updates.
- Collaborate with stakeholders vendors and cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
- Ensure compliance with State client standards policies and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Active PMP certification (mandatory).
- Bachelors degree or higher (official degree certificate required; transcripts not accepted).
- 10 years of professional project management experience with at least 5 years managing large-scale or government projects.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (PMBOK Agile Hybrid).
- Exceptional communication presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
