Reporting To: Chef de Partie / Sous Chef Bakery & Pastry
The Bakery & Pastry Commis 1 is responsible for assisting in the preparation production and presentation of bakery and pastry items ensuring the highest standards of quality consistency and hygiene are maintained. This role requires strong technical skills creativity and a passion for baking and pastry arts.
Key Responsibilities:Prepare bake and finish a variety of breads cakes pastries desserts and other bakery products as per standard recipes and instructions.
Assist senior chefs in planning and executing daily bakery & pastry operations.
Ensure accurate portioning presentation and consistency of products.
Follow standard recipes while also contributing creative ideas for new menu items.
Maintain proper storage handling and rotation of ingredients to minimize wastage.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pastry and bakery section at all times.
Adhere to HACCP and food safety standards.
Assist in training and guiding junior staff/trainees in the bakery section.
Work closely with the kitchen team to support banquets buffets and restaurant menus.
Monitor equipment usage and report any maintenance issues.
