Job Description
Introduction
Our client a leading investment company based in Melrose Arch is looking for a Financial Analyst.
The Financial Analyst is responsible for portfolio management and the analysis of investments day-to-day planning reporting monitoring and administrative activities for the company.
The core purpose of the role is to provide support to the CRO (who in turn supports the CEO and Chief Commercial Officer) in the day-to-day management and oversight of the Investment portfolio as well as overall financial management of the Group and its affiliated investment company entities.
The investment portfolio consists of 18 legal entities which are categorized as Portfolio Investment Companies (PICs) Shared Services Companies (SSC) and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) in information technology-focused and related sectors.
The Financial Analyst role requires a dynamic well-rounded and technically astute CA(SA) with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn and collaborate in a dynamic environment as a member of a lean and focused investment team. The team upholds a high standard of excellence and a strong work ethic requiring a candidate that is resilient structured pro-active self-motivated driven diligent and practical with a problem-solving mindset to complement it.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Day-to-day requirements of the role are predominantly focused on financial analysis and portfolio management.
- Requires involvement in financial management activities at the investment holding company level.
- Portfolio Management.
- Financial Reporting.
- Financial Control and Financial Management.
- Valuation of PICs.
- Policies Processes and Procedures.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- CA(SA) qualification.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint at advanced user level.
- Articles with a recognized auditing firm.
- Experience in assisting the audit manager in managing an audit.
- Experience in managing and mentoring junior team members.
