Job Description

Job Title: Speech & Language Therapist

Banding: Band 6
Location: Vauxhall London
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Permanent
Salary: 42000 per annum
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday

Job Overview

We are currently seeking a committed and skilled Speech & Language Therapist to join a specialist day school in Vauxhall London catering to children and young people aged 5 to 17 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) with a particular focus on social emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity to work within a therapeutic and educational setting where your expertise will contribute to a seamless model of care and support for pupils with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Deliver tailored speech and language therapy interventions to children and young people with SEND and SEMH needs.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to support therapeutic learning environments.
  • Contribute to assessments care planning and progress reviews.
  • Provide training and guidance to educational staff to ensure consistent clinically informed support.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in line with professional standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to service improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role you must:

  • Be a qualified Speech and Language Therapist registered with the HCPC.
  • Have experience working with children and young people with complex needs particularly SEMH.
  • Be confident in delivering therapeutic interventions and supporting staff teams.
  • Be proactive organised and committed to achieving the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Be an effective communicator and clinical role model.
