Description

Mission: The Link works with youth and young families to overcome the impacts of poverty and social injustice. Our 23 programs provide supportive housing intensive case management services and skills development to youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness sex trafficking and/or involvement in the juvenile justice system. The Link prides itself on its innovative youth-centered strengths-based programming for youth and families as well as programs that are co-designed implemented and overseen by youth.


Position Specifics

  • Hiring Salary Range: $55500 to 64500/hour based on qualifications
  • Job Type: Full-Time Exempt
  • Location: Apple Valley MN
  • Hours/Days: Mon-Fri 9:00-5:00
  • Note: This position requires driving. To be able to drive on behalf of The Link candidates must have a valid drivers license have a safe and reliable vehicle be able to successfully clear a criminal and motor vehicle background check and maintain personal insurance at the levels of $100000 Bodily Injury/Per Person and $300000 Bodily Injury/Per Accident. Job offer is contingent on having these requirements.

BASIC FUNCTION

This position is a leadership position and is responsible for assisting the CORE Program Manager with program operations and staff supervision of The Links CORE Programs including the Hotel Shelter Drop In Future Independent Pathways (FIP) Street Outreach and Coordinated Entry. This includes staff and program supervision of the day-to-day activities; crisis intervention; oversight of program activities case management services recreational and social activities menta health support. The Assistant Program Manager will ensure high quality program delivery that is grounded in positive youth development harm reduction and trauma-informed care.

The Assistant Program Manager will also be a member of The Links Leadership team and will ensure efficient operation of programming that is consistent with The Links mission goals and objectives policies and funding compliance.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Program Manager in overseeing and managing the drop in center staffing and program requirements for FIP hotel shelter coordinated entry and street outreach
  • Participate in the development and implementation of strategic planning for the agency and program
  • Provide training and support to ensure that programming is grounded in youth development harm reduction and trauma informed care and ensure programming is grounded in best practices for serving youth who have experienced or are experiencing homelessness.
  • Create and maintain a community and culture that is warm welcoming and supportive of all youth
  • Help to ensure all documentation requirements are met for all programs
  • Oversee and participate in the CORE drop-in daily schedule and help with the coordination of coverage for drop in and CORE calls
  • Oversee program supplies and program needs
  • Assist the program manager in ensuring that the program operates within budget guidelines
  • Maintain a work environment that attracts retains and motivates a diverse workforce of top-quality people
  • Create and maintain community relations appropriate to the fulfillment of agency priorities and objectives
  • Develop collaborations and referral process for services beyond the scope of The Link
  • Arranges and participates in speaking engagements
  • Participate in committees as appointed internally and in the community
  • Help with related advocacy efforts
  • Assist Program Manager with interviewing and hiring staff making sure to include youth from the Housing Committee in the process whenever possible.
  • Mediate and provide resolution for client and staff grievances and conflict resolution and de-escalation

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a criminal and motor vehicle background check and maintain auto insurance levels required by The Link

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-3 years related experience working with youth required
  • Experience delivering services using positive youth development harm reduction and trauma informed care
  • Knowledge of the Twin Cities homeless youth single adult and family continuum of services
  • Knowledge of systems that interact with people experiencing homelessness (law enforcement child welfare etc.)
  • Knowledge of appropriate boundaries and safety precautions while running a drop-in center
  • Experience working with young people who have significant barriers to housing and stability
  • Knowledge of supportive housing programs and services
  • Ability to work a variable schedule as needed
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Current drivers license reliable vehicle (with current insurance at the levels required by the Link) and ability to successfully pass a criminal and driving background check

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear
  • The employee is frequently required to use manual dexterity for use of objects tools or controls as well as visual acuity
  • The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop kneel crouch or crawl
  • The employee must lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Work environment for this position includes offices common and residential space with a low to high noise level
  • Ability to work a variable schedule (including some evenings overnights and weekends) as needed
  • Requires ability to drive
