Description

JOB SUMMARY:

It is the responsibility of the Maintenance Mechanic to perform project maintenance and repairs including installation work on mechanical electrical plumbing equipment building systems flooring painting and carpentry. All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal state local laws regulations and ordinances as well as department and Company policies practices and procedures.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensures safe efficient operation of all equipment relevant to boilers chillers pumps life safety equipment air handlers and emergency generators.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical equipment including heating ventilation air conditioning equipment fan coils chiller and boiler preventive maintenance pumps water softener systems cooling towers and energy management systems and electrical including wiring motors and motor controls.
  • Installs connects and tests sanitary plumbing fixtures including: Sinks toilets cleanout copper pipping etc.
  • Maintain and repair buildings HVAC systems including replacing worn or defective parts such as motors switches fuses contacts wiring etc.
  • Submit requests for parts equipment tools and supplies in a timely manner.
  • Take inventory as assigned.
  • Provides on-the job training to un-skilled and semi-skilled employees.
  • Works under guidance of preventative maintenance and work order program according to schedule and plan.
  • Responsible for preventative and regular maintenance of equipment and infrastructure.
  • Repairs replaces and performs preventative maintenance on motors panels and electrical equipment.
  • Checks electrical circuits refrigeration controls and contacts.
  • Familiar with the installation as well as the repair of electrical equipment.
  • Handles regular preventative maintenance of all HVAC and refrigeration equipment. Maintains inventory of supplies under guidance of Facilities Manager.
  • Familiar with and operates Energy Management System.
  • Repair furniture doors slot machine stands and gambling tables.
  • Fabricates office partitions doors cornices counters panel walls and ceilings.
  • Replaces burned out light bulbs checks electrical circuits repair dimmers refrigeration controls and contacts.
  • Responsible for all preparation necessary to ensure proper application of paints varnishes sealers and rust-proofing.
  • Conducts regular inspections of life safety systems including fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems.
  • Performs daily routine maintenance.
  • Understand Building Automation Systems and has the ability to identify problems and present proactive solutions.
  • Ability to wire motors and motor controls.
  • Complete and submit paperwork in a timely manner so that the work order system can be properly updated.

Good working knowledge of work orders systems with the ability to retrieve and analyze data for trends/reports.

Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved.

  • Display and maintain a sense of urgency in regards to all Casino business.
  • Assure each days activities and problems that occur are communicated to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
  • Minor installations & repairs to building automation systems (BAS) components.
  • Works with power ranging from low to medium voltages.
  • Operates scissor and boom lifts and climbs ladders to access elevated areas such as ceilings and catwalks.
  • Operates and maintains appropriate tools and equipment daily for troubleshooting on site.
  • Maintains a constant awareness of safety and accident prevention including safely operating lifts.
  • Drives and operates company vehicles.
  • Responds to and resolves guest complaints in a timely manner and solves problems with the ability to anticipate recognize evaluate and resolve potential difficulties.
  • Ensures the privacy and confidentiality of guests and limits requests for information pertaining to guests in accordance with Company policies.

Must be knowledgeable in seam repair patch repair rest retching glue down tack strip measurement and estimating of carpet and padding yardage and installation of padding edging banding and base cove.

  • Uses computer for tracking of maintenance activities email communication Outlook calendar internet search and purchasing and various systems; e.g. training etc.
  • Will participate in inclement weather emergencies.
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures completing work in a safe manner caring about safety of self and others responding appropriately in an emergency and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Learn and understand companys policies procedures and regulations related to operations guest relations human resources safety security and loss prevention

Read and understand technical instructions schematics and blueprints (e.g. electrical schematics building blueprints).

  • Handle high levels of stress and customer issues in a calm and professional manner at all times.
  • Must be available during non-work hours as needed and responds to emergency calls in a timely manner.
  • Good working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved.
  • Ability to lift push pull or carry objects using hands arms back stomach shoulders legs or combination of these muscle groups (up to 40lbs.)
  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum Seven (7) years of experience or specializing in at least one of the following related trades: electrical mechanical HVAC plumbing refrigeration carpentry welding and fabrication or kitchen equipment.
  • Minimum Five (5) years of experience with a casino and/or hotel resort operation or similar setting.

PREFERRED:

  • Ten (10) plus years of experience in the hospitality industry or similar environment.
  • Ten (10) plus years of previous experience working in related trades.
  • Journeyman Electrical Plumber Steam Fitter or Boiler license.
  • Refrigerant Universal EPA certified (CFC).

Certificates Licenses Registrations:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Maryland Lottery Gaming and Control Commission.
  • Drivers License where applicable.
  • Driving Record from DMV where applicable.

Work Schedule/Hours:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional work outside of normal business hours.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • $27.60 per hour(Bi-weekly Pay Dates)
  • PTO 401(k)
