Coordinator, Rural Family Support Services

Position Summary:

Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by Catholic Social Teachings by providing program coordination for Resource Bus operations in service of rural counties. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor program hotline and e-mail
• Respond to all inquiries for appointments and community partner requests
• Conduct initial phone screenings for client appointments
• Coordinate and schedule client appointments for Resource Bus programming
• Coordinate data entry and assist as-needed
• Set and update volunteer schedule
• Recruit and onboard new volunteers as-needed
• Liaise with community partners and maintain a community resource guide for Resource Bus communities
• Ensure the bus is prepared for weekly trips (two days/week) including loading of food clothing diapers etc.
• Assist with the creation of calendar and promotional materials
• Other duties as assigned

• Must complete VIRTUS training background screening drug testing and any ongoing training as required
• Must possess a valid drivers license dependable transportation current vehicle insurance and a verified safe driving record
• High school graduate or equivalent. Two year Associates Degree strongly preferred
• Experience with data management systems is strongly preferred
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills especially on the phone
• Computer skills required: Outlook Microsoft Office SharePoint Adobe and Data Entry
• Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and respect people from a variety of social economic and ethnic backgrounds
• Ability to work in a team setting including Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas volunteers colleagues contractors and funding sources
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Preference for Bilingual Spanish-speaking

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer standing bending and moving
• Ability to lift and /or move food products weighing up to 30 pounds
• Regularly required to sit for prolonged amounts of time with occasional travel in a mobile bus environment
• Must have the physical ability to make visits to a variety of environments that may include walking on rough terrain and climbing stairs
