Association of Washington Cities (AWC) is recruiting a full-time Marketing and Field Service Coordinator to join our dynamic and customer orientated team.


Founded in 1933 AWC is a private nonprofit nonpartisan organization which provides a wide array of services to all 281 cities and towns in the State of Washington. AWC builds connections between our states diverse cities and towns while providing our members with the support needed to thrive through delivery of data-driven education nationally recognized polling programs and nonpartisan advocacy. Membership is voluntary and we are proud that AWC maintains 100% participation. AWC is a vibrant fast-paced organization supported by 70 employees who are passionate about serving our members. We have a diverse team with subject matter expertise in various areas.


The AWC Employee Benefit Trust (AWC Trust) is a member service of AWC and is Washingtons premier local government benefit pool for cities towns and other local governments. The AWC Trust provides a broad selection of benefit insurance options and health management programs for members.


Summary:

This position supports the strategic marketing outreach and retention efforts of the contracted AWC Trust and other AWC Member Pooling Programs by building relationships with current and prospective members. This position plays a key role in representing the organization through direct engagement with members and promote awareness understanding and value of the AWC Trust programs in collaboration with the Program Deputy Director. This may entail extensive travel throughout the state.

Compensation and benefits:


Salary

The full salary range for this position is $75022 to $112534 annually. The top candidates placement within the range will typically fall between the minimum and 25th percentile of the range depending on education training experience and other conditions consistent with AWC policy. A compensation market analysis is completed every other year. As outlined in policy AWC employees generally receive an annual adjustment based on market and economic changes and an increase based on meeting full performance expectations.


Health insurance

AWC pays 100% of the medical premium for employees and 90% of the medical premium for spouse/domestic partner and child(ren) up to age 26. Dental and vision insurance are 100% employer-paid for employees and eligible dependents.

Retirement benefits

For every $1 an employee contributes toward their 401(k) AWC matches the contribution with $1.20 up to 10% of the employees base salary subject to IRS thresholds. Employer match can also be applied towards eligible student loan payments.

Paid leave

Four hours of paid vacation leave in the first year of employment for every semi-monthly pay period with vacation accrual increasing over time; four hours of paid sick leave for every semi-monthly pay period; 11 paid holidays and two floating holidays each year.

Additional benefits

Basic life insurance and disability insurance; employer-funded Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) ranging from $770 to $1980 based upon enrollment in the medical insurance plans; access to outstanding performance awards and tuition assistance; and staff appreciation events.


This position is eligible to telework on certain days of the week subject to approval and as determined by AWC.

What youll be doing:

  • Lead the scheduling staffing and coordination of AWC Trust benefit fairs and presentations serving as the primary field representative while organizing participation of additional staff and managing appropriate calendars.
  • Create update and tailor benefit presentation templates to clearly convey program features and value to AWC Trust member employers.
  • Provide field visits upon members request including informational sessions related to AWC Trust services and programs.
  • Record customized benefit presentations for AWC Trust member employers upon request.
  • Build member relationships and provide education to various stakeholders and members on the features and benefits of the AWC Trusts services and programs.
  • Support the outreach and education efforts of other Member Pooling Programs by assisting with member engagement benefit communication and promotion of program features and services
  • Assist the Program Deputy Director in developing and implementing an annual marketing/business plan that supports the mission vision and objectives of the Trust and the Member Pooling Programs.
  • Write employee/employer communications including technical bulletins marketing materials website newsletter and annual membership communications.
  • Assist in the creation and promotion of marketing products and advertising for other Member Pooling Programs insuring alignment with program goals.
  • Represent AWC in addition to Trust and MPPs by coordinating and staffing exhibit booths at events such as organization conferences events meetings and member benefit fairs or presentations and other paraprofessional association meetings workshops conventions and conferences where the organizations visibility capitalizes on the value of membership. Coordinate all print materials and collateral. Have general knowledge of all AWC programs and resources.
  • Establish and maintain effective communicative relationships with the organizations internal customers vendor partners existing members and potential members of the organization.
  • Incumbent will routinely do member site visits in all areas of Washington state and attend trainings and events; generally overnight stays will not exceed 100 nights a year.


Requirements:

  • 5 years experience in health care operations including benefit administration and work with a multi-employer association or non-profit organization.
  • 3 years experience in a position that included self-directed travel and independent work with individuals and groups.
  • Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent years of experience in a marketing or account executive role.
  • Must maintain a valid Washington State drivers license in good standing.

  • Possess strong marketing and communication skills articulate clearly both with the written and spoken word.
  • Highly organized; demonstrated self-motivation and attention to detail to enable proficiency for trip planning conference attendance and member follow up.
  • Ability to be away from home traveling for a majority of the month.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity equity inclusion and belonging through continuous development modeling inclusive behaviors and proactive management of personal bias.


Working conditions:

The incumbent may work irregular hours and may begin and end work beyond the normal workday when necessary. Work is performed primarily in an office setting and sedentary in nature with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Incumbent must be able to lift up to and carry 30 pounds at times. Work may also involve standing for long periods stooping repetitive motions with hand wrist and fingers. Driving an automobile is necessary incumbent may spend prolonged periods in a vehicle.
