Job Description

This position will work primarily with the Humanities departments as well as the Honors Program Intellectual Foundations and the international graduate teaching assistants. The successful candidate will exhibit a strong work ethic be willing to handle a wide range of tasks possess strong communication and organization skills have the ability to work well with people at all levels of the College.

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Provide support for the Humanities departments as well as the All-College Honors Program and Intellectual Foundations Program
  • Serve as a liaison for the international teaching assistants in the Target Language Expert (TLE) program including coordinating onboarding and helping TLEs navigate campus supports and offices
  • Perform daily clerical tasks including routine correspondence scheduling appointments purchasing office supplies and other duties as assigned.
  • Process budget items such as invoices check requests etc. and maintain accurate expense sheets for department chairs
  • Supervise a small number of student workers assigning tasks to assist faculty and departments
  • Provide support for special projects such as the Divisional Honor Celebration and the Visiting Writers series
  • Coordinate searches when needed to fill faculty positions
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Divisional Dean

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma with additional experience in higher education preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Computer skills with Web browser MS Office Suite Adobe Acrobat Goggle Systems and ZOOM. Experience with Workday system is beneficial
