Job Summary

AGENCY OVERVIEW
The Jefferson County Sheriffs Office (JCSO) is in Louisville Kentucky and serves as the largest Sheriffs Office and fourth largest law enforcement agency in the state. Its approximately 250 sworn 60 civilian and 75 volunteer Reserve Deputies perform its main duties of providing court security serving court orders and collecting property taxes. The members of JCSO also serve the community by supporting the work of local charitable organizations and providing a positive presence that ensures the safety of residents of Jefferson County.

POSITION OVERVIEW
The TaxDivisionof the Jefferson County Sheriffs Office performs duties related to property tax collection. The location of this position is Downtown Louisville at 515 West Market Street. Working hours are 8am - 4pm Monday - Friday.A four-day workweek may be considered in special circumstances. Temporary assignments begin mid-October and may go as late as April is provided.

Example of Duties

  • Answering phone calls concerning current year tax bills;
  • researching payment applications;
  • other clerical responsibilities.
Training is provided. Prior experience with answering phones basic computer knowledge cashiering and general clerical experience is helpful.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must have high school diploma or equivalent

SALARY/BENEFITS
The salary for this position is $26.85 per hour.
There are no benefits associated with this position and it does accrue leave time.
