Lead Corporate Accounting in all strategic and complex corporate transactions while partnering Business Unit leaders and other functional senior stakeholders in assessing related finance and accounting impacts. Work for an organization noted for its teamwork within Finance and across functional boundaries. Reporting to the Assistant Controller of Corporate Accounting & Financial Reporting the Director of Technical Accounting & Special Projects will be part of a dynamic accounting team responsible for supporting acquisitions and divestitures through the full deal life cycle (due diligence purchase agreement reviews integration and related technical accounting consultation) provide financial accounting and reporting support for both SEC and international statutory filings.

This high-profile role will partner with senior business leaders in various functions in the organization to understand the issues evaluate accounting solutions and support strategic business initiatives. The individual will be a subject matter expert of U.S. GAAP have robust experience with complex business transactions including those around mergers acquisition divestitures and related integration efforts for both domestic and international entities. The successful candidate will apply analytical concepts consistently based on facts and circumstances and be able communicate information effectively across functions and the business.

What You Will Do

  • Lead acquisition and divestiture accounting projects for the company

  • Partner with Business leadership and other cross functional leaders on the evaluation of strategic initiatives

  • Research and prepare technical accounting consultations to support business unit objects while helping to craft the most optimal transaction structure for Raytheon

  • Be a subject matter expert in U.S. GAAP and Internal Accounting Standards to ensure Raytheon produces accurate and reliable financial statements and associated accounting records

  • Supporting the design and implementation of an International Accounting Operating Model

  • Maintaining compliance to RTX policies and procedures Sarbanes-Oxley and other internal control requirements to support SEC and other required reporting requirements to Corporate

  • Participate in or lead projects or initiatives to improve processes systems templates and tools for greater efficiency or accuracy to support the financial reporting and internal financial control environment

  • Mentor and develop talent within the organization

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics Business Administration or a related field

  • Typically requires a minimum of 14 years of finance experience; OR an Advanced degree and minimum of 12 years of finance experience.

  • Industry or public accounting firm experience in accounting audit or program finance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent

  • Experience in performing testing or evaluating SOX controls

  • Understanding complex business processes including cost flows revenue accounting inventory management and GL/close activities

  • Advanced experience with tools such as Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint

  • Subject matter expert of financial accounting and reporting concepts

  • Excellent project management skills interpersonal skills teamwork skills and written and verbal communication skills.

The salary range for this role is 176000 USD - 352000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including but not limited to individual performance business unit performance and/or the companys performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
