DescriptionJob Summary:By joining us as a Engineer/ Senior Engineer - Weldingat our Flow Controls Unit in Chennai you will be our in-house expert for Welding Engineering and automation coordinating our welding processes including the (ongoing) qualifications of our welders and ensuring that weld processes are completed according to the applicable standards.
In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:- Qualifying welders and procedures (WPS/PQR/WPQ) for all grades of materials positions and diameter so that all kinds of welding can be performed in-house. Renewing welder certificates periodically for what they have qualified.
- Renew maintain records of all welder qualification without any lapse PED IBR and ASME qualify welders for any new projects on time.
- Acquire all required tools like gauges torches equipment and consumables for hassle free execution of welding activities
- Provide vital support supervise and improve quality of fabricated jobs for specific projects undertaken at outsourced weld shop.
- Identify new suppliers for procuring welding consumables procure necessary tools for measuring the welding related parameters for quality improvement. Taking into account the project requirements and driven price.
- Providing procedures and guidance to welders and Heat treatment operators in performing the in-house jobs on time.
- Create intermediate part no. & routing in Oracle related to welding and HT activities.
- Submitting procedures to inter-departments (Interco AE and final quality) and justifications to comments raised by customer without delay.
- Support activities pertaining to welding for obtaining ISO and 45001 - Carrying out internal audits and closing the audit observations.
- Coordinating with sub-contract team for sending job work to weld shop and RT shop based on their approval.
- Interact with product engineer and Providing justifications to comments raised by customers for the submitted procedures on time.
- Daily monitoring of welding and Heat treatment activities and maintain records.
- Provide training to the welders and heat treatment operators.

For This Role You Will Need:- Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering.
- Mandatory Certification from AWS / IWE/ CSWIP
- Hands on Experience in Welding
- NDE (LPT MPT UT & RT.) certification will be an added advantage.
- Experience in handling GTAW SMAW PAW and GMAW
- Experience in fabrication and overlay welding.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Analytical skills with detail orientation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the vital skills to successfully apply technology and systems specific to the department required.
