Job Description
Summary:
The priority of a Shop Apprentice is to come to work with a willingness to learn. Learn by first listening then doing. At the direction of the Production Manager the Shop Apprentice will be expected to learn essential methods and standards for the different departments within the shop; therefore ultimately understanding the manufacturing process from start to finish and the standards of quality and safety that we uphold.
Essential Job Functions:
- Understand how to read and comprehend drawings and cut sheets
- Understand the different means and methods of the different departments
- Use safe practices; learn how to use machines and tools in a safe manner
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers
Qualifications/Certifications/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and use a tape measure
- Strong Communication skills
Work Environment:
This position operates in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
Physical Demands:
- Must pass pre-employment physical / musculoskeletal exam
- Must pass drug screening
- Must pass an audiogram test
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a daily basis

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee frequently is required to stand walk use hands and fingers handle or feel as well as reach with hands and arms.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision peripheral vision depth perception the ability to see and differentiate color and to focus.
