Job Description Summary
Provide support to the Principal Investigator in bioinformatic approaches to analyze complex RNA -seq data for an ongoing Alzheimers disease-related research project. The research associate will plan design and conduct highly technical and complex research projects independently and in consultation with the supervisor. They will also analyze research data and provide interpretations and contribute to the development of research documentation for publication and/or presentation. This position will also be responsible for preparing technical reports papers graphs and/or records.
Responsibilities
Conduct research independently and in consultation with the supervisor. Prepare technical reports papers graphs and/or records and provides interpretations. Collaborate with other faculty with similar research interests on this topic. Maintains and updates record of all experimental studies. Stores all data in digital format on computers and backs up regularly. Consult and assist Principal Investigator Work alongside Principal Investigator to determine method details and means of performing the services. Furnish regular updates to Principal Investigator. Laboratory Ensure the facility is well equipped with all necessary tools to conduct research Place request orders for equipment from Chapman University Use equipment and laboratory space accordingly to work contract
Required Qualifications
PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences or relevant field of research; or its equivalent in research skill and subject matter knowledge by the beginning of employment at Chapman University. Proficient in research methods testing and data collection analysis evaluation report writing independent discretion and judgment Ability to conduct research in a timely manner and document all data. Strong writing skills and computational knowledge. Comfortable with bioinformatic approaches for data analysis. Strong writing skills and computational knowledge. Ability to work alone and/or with student (or laboratory) assistants. Ability to collaborate with Principal Investigator and other faculty before and during research. Ability to follow appropriate research protocols and university policies and procedures.
