Come join the Collins Aerospace Power & Controls engineering team as a Structures Thermal/CFD Spring/Summer Co-op! This co-op is a 2026 January through early August commitment working 40 hours a week. You would need to take the spring semester this role you would specifically support the Electric Power Systems segment and be responsible for performing aerothermal fluid analyses on products such as aircraft generators ram air turbines and electronic controllers in support of multiple programs and aerospace customers. This role is onsite in Rockford IL. This role may be eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do:

  • You will support the Structures Thermal/CFD team and customers by conducting thermal and fluid analyses on individual components functional systems and technically advanced prototypes.
  • You will use commercial engineering software and homegrown tools to execute analyses and interpret results.
  • You will research and develop analysis plans to meet customer requirements
  • You will support testing as needed and provide technical recommendations to Design and Project functions.
  • You will do analysis within the following areas which may include thermal hydraulic thermodynamic or heat transfer for evaluation of the production transmission measurement and use of energy with respect to product design.

  • You will gain exposure to aerothermal fluid structural analysis methodologies and processes within the aerospace industry.
  • You will learn data-model analysis correlation.
  • You will learn technical document writing.
  • You will learn how to do customer communication and support.
