Job Details

Wage range: $33.92 to $41.70
Shift structure: Monday Friday 7.25 hours per day

About the Role:
CASA Mental Health Classrooms are CASAs new model for school-based mental health service. The program addresses the need for services closer to students by bridging a childs mental health and school needs through a coordinated approach by a mental health team and a teacher. CASA Classrooms are delivered in partnership with the Government of Alberta community partners and school divisions.

The Therapy Support Navigator will:
  • Assist Mental Health Therapists/Physicians in screening and assessment interviews in order to develop a treatment plan for mental health services.
  • Participate in the case management of assigned caseload.
  • Provide hands-on modelling and coaching to family members as determined and guided by the treatment plan.
  • Coordinate and facilitate psycho-educational/treatment groups for patients and their families.
  • Provide outreach support for youth in the community in consultation with the CASA Classrooms and Transition teams.
  • Develop and maintain a list of community resources and use these to refer patients and families to community agencies for additional mental health support.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in social work arts (majoring in psychology) education or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of practical experience in a childrens mental health treatment setting with a particular emphasis on dual diagnosis learning disability developmental delay and executive dysfunction.
  • Valid Class 5 drivers license and access to a vehicle.
Conditions of Employment
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. This would be the financial responsibility of the successful candidate.
  • Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification (training provided by CASA) or Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments (SIVA) training as well asphysical ability to perform all interventions.
