Status: Permanent Full Time
Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA)is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the key role of Intake Information and Referral Coordinator.

What We Do
There has never been a more exciting time to be at WAHA. We are an integrated health system providing the full continuum of care to the six communities of the western James Bay coast with over 500 employees physicians and partners in care. Who You Are
  • Knowledge of First Nations Issues such as colonization genocide and residential school impacts etc.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multi-task
  • Computer skills and application knowledge (Microsoft suite: Outlook Word Excel Teams and PowerPoint)
  • Intervention and assessment knowledge an asset
What Youll Do
  • Process internal external walk-in and self-referrals as appropriate for the region and facilitate seamless access to the most appropriate services
  • Work collaboratively to match clients with appropriate services
  • Collaboratively work with community agencies and providers to enhance mental health services
  • Frequent collaboration with physicians and nurses in regards to client referrals
  • Liaise with the client family referral sources and community partners to conduct a pre-screen brief intake and support the transitioning to the most appropriate services
  • Conduct brief screening to assess for level of risk and any immediate response required to respond and reduce risk
  • Conduct brief screening tool to assess mental health alcohol and drug use and trauma/domestic violence exposures
  • Answer phone calls and inquiries concerning available programs and services and for self
  • Participates in program planning development and evaluation by attending meetings and in-services and reviewing policies and procedures
What You Bring
  • A diploma in social work social service work mental health health care or related field required
  • A degree in social work social service work mental health health care or related field preferred
  • G or G2 Drivers License
  • Ability to communicate in the local native Cree language is an asset

Salary: $90090.00 - $97675.50
