The development center of SAP in Bulgaria plays a key role in the defining and developing of the SAP Business Technology Platform. With its more than 1400 professionals SAP Labs Bulgaria also has strong contributions toward life-cycle management user interface & user experience across the broader portfolio of SAP products and has recently welcomed new teams focusing on business applications. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

SAP Globalization is working on developing AI agents and tools to streamline the localization of SAP software for different countries. The focus is on leveraging AI in activities such as coding research automation and software design with the goal of accelerating the delivery of solutions tailored to meet local requirements.

YOUR FUTURE ROLE

We are looking for a passionate Development Architect for our team in Sofia to work on exciting global AI this role you will:

• Play a crucial role in pioneering the integration of modern AI capabilities actively shaping the infusion of Generative AI features right from the beginning. This is a rare opportunity to make a significant impact and be part of a groundbreaking journey.
• Streamline and automatethe process of monitoring analyzingand applyinglegal changesto enable customer compliance with local regulations in multiple countries and valuable insights into critical Business Processes.
• Work closely with multiple frontrunner teams in AI environment globally.
• Explore and assess new technologies in the field of generative AI Large Language Models (LLMs) AI-augmented development tools and infrastructure to evolve existing highly used functionalities and services in the cloud.
• Guide/ lead architecture decisions in your team based on industry standards and best practices lead adherence to architectural principles SAP product-specific guidelines and product standards.
• Lead and own the entire development process designing and developing robust back-end functionalities and ensuring seamless integration with other SAP products.
• Research and evaluate new technologies and frameworks in the context of AI. With the help of Proof-of-Concept establish the viability.
• Support the team with various software development tasks (design implementation testing operations) focusing on high quality and Agile Software Engineering practices.
• Work in a cross-functional team of talented and motivated colleagues .
• Mentor encourage and motivate the team members.

YOUR PROFILE

If you are self-driven and flexible you are a perfect fit for our team. Further role requirements are:

• Degree in Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent subject
• Solid experience in architecting backend systems with proficiency in languages such as Python or Java
• Extensive experience with developing and architecting software solutions that run in the Cloud; knowledge of SAP BTP is an advantage
• Strong knowledge in prompt engineering techniques such as retrieval augmented generation or few-shot prompting
• Expertise in designing and implementing agent frameworks such as ReAct
• Experience with MCP or similar technologies would be a plus
• Ability to keep pace with GenAI technology shifts and solve problems creatively within a diverse team with different expertise backgrounds and perspectives.
• Strong understanding of algorithms data structures and database usage
• Extensive experience with common tools for agile project planning and tracking source code control and continuous integration (e.g. JIRA Git Jenkins)
• Ability to work independently and lead projects providing technical guidance to development teams
• Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with multiple stakeholders
• Good English language skills (written and verbal)
