Job Description: Security Engineer IV (Windows Systems)
Key Responsibilities:
- Design implement and maintain Windows Server environments () ensuring reliability security and optimal performance.
- Administer and optimize Active Directory Group Policy Objects (GPOs) DNS DHCP Certificate Services and Windows Server Failover Cluster (WSFC).
- Develop maintain and troubleshoot advanced PowerShell and PowerCLI scripts to automate system administration tasks and enhance functionality.
- Implement and manage disaster recovery and backup strategies including hybrid cloud solutions such as CommVault Metallic Backups.
- Perform administration patching and deployment of updates and upgrades across Windows 10/11 desktops and Windows Servers in both physical and virtual environments.
- Provide detailed documentation for system designs configurations processes and service records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT infrastructure projects and deliver expert technical leadership.
- Mentor junior team members providing guidance on best practices and technical problem solving.
- Support 24/7/365 on-call operations as required to ensure system availability and rapid incident response.
- Troubleshoot and resolve LAN/WAN connectivity performance and throughput issues.
- Analyze system development and implementation requirements preparing modifications and specifications as needed.
- Ensure compliance with security frameworks and standards including CIS Controls NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5 and DISA STIGs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Security Information Systems or a related field or equivalent combination of education certifications and experience.
- 10 years of progressive experience in Windows System Administration and Information Security.
- Proven expertise with Active Directory Group Policy DNS DHCP TCP/IP IPv4/IPv6 Certificate Services and Windows Server Failover Clustering.
- Experience administering and troubleshooting Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 in enterprise environments.
- Advanced proficiency in PowerShell and PowerCLI scripting for automation and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of hybrid backup and disaster recovery solutions such as CommVault Metallic Backups.
- Strong communication documentation and problem-solving skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team in high-pressure environments.
- Willingness to participate in a rotating on-call schedule including after-hours support.
- Current Microsoft certifications such as: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate and Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (or equivalent current/recent version).
