Our team provides focused agile software development and maintenance for CODIS a mission-critical application for the FBI. Today CODIS is a client server application developed using that supports a database repository of DNA profiles from individuals unsolved crime scene evidence and missing persons. CODIS software allows local state and national laboratories to compare DNA profiles electronically thereby linking serial crimes to each other and identifying suspects by matching DNA profiles from crime scenes to individuals profiles. Additionally the CODIS software is used to assist with the identification of unidentified human remains missing persons and disaster victims
The Software Developer Subject Matter Expert (SME) provides technical and management leadership for highly complex software development initiatives. This role is responsible for establishing goals defining strategies and delivering mission-critical solutions. The SME applies deep domain expertise to guide project staff provide strategic advice and develop innovative software solutions that meet rigorous performance security and usability requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the design development testing and deployment of new software applications and enhancements to existing systems.
Define requirements and ensure alignment from project inception through delivery for highly complex programs.
Provide strategic advice technical guidance and domain expertise to stakeholders and project teams.
Conduct detailed analysis evaluation and recommendations for system improvements optimization and maintenance.
Collaborate with clients to define business needs identify issues and recommend solutions.
Supervise studies lead surveys and analyze collected data to advise on technical and operational improvements.
Troubleshoot debug and resolve software issues in collaboration with technical staff.
Ensure applications meet business user performance quality security and interface requirements.
Support the creation of user manuals training materials and documentation.
Manage desktop design testing security lockdown integration with software packages automated patching/deployment and configuration automation.
Supervise junior developers and provide mentorship as needed.
Required Qualifications
US Citizen withActive Secret Clearance or we can sponsor your Secret clearance.
Minimum of 10 years of software development experience or equivalent expertise demonstrated through certifications and past projects.
Proven track record of delivering enterprise-grade applications and providing technical leadership.
Strong understanding of business applications security performance and usability standards.
Experience working with government or mission-critical systems (preferred).
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Strong communication skills with experience presenting solutions to stakeholders and clients.
Hands-on experience with Technology Stack:
Development Tools & Platforms: Azure DevOps 2022 Visual Studio 2022 Git for Windows
Experience leading teams in Agile or iterative development environments.
Strong leadership mentoring and decision-making skills.
Ability to communicate technical solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with CODIS client/server baseline applications including standalone Popstats and CODIS Rapid Enrollment.
Experience managing cross-functional teams and high-stakes projects.
