Description

In accordance with the Vision Purpose and Values and strategic direction of Island Health (Vancouver Island Health Authority) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager with professional and clinical support from the Manager Pain Program and working without general supervision within an inter-professional chronic disease management framework the Physiotherapist-Pain Program with the Pain Program inter-disciplinary team assesses plans implements plans and evaluates plans for patients/clients with chronic pain. Responsible for planning and implementing patient education materials and sessions referral to community resources and setting up ongoing self-management and rehabilitation plans for patients/clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Training And Experience

Graduation from a recognized university program in Physiotherapy. Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Physiotherapist. Eligible for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA). Two (2) years recent related experience in tertiary level care chronic pain management/rehabilitation or an equivalent combination of education training and experience.
