Job Description:

As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer GA Dimensional Engineering you will be responsible for ensuring that all manufactured parts and assemblies meet precise dimensional specifications and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge in dimensional measurement quality control processes and the ability to interpret technical drawings blueprints and CAD models.
You will work closely with the design team to design fixtures that are functional accurate efficient and cost-effective.
Blueprint & CAD Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings blueprints CAD models and other design documents to ensure proper measurements and tolerances are understood and adhered to in the production process
Fixture Integration: Understanding how fixtures integrate with other manufacturing equipment robots conveyors and tools ensuring smooth operation across the assembly line
Process Flow and Ergonomics: Ability to design fixtures that align with the assembly lines process flow ensuring theyre easy to use for operators and dont create bottlenecks
Work with cross-functional teams to recommend evaluate and make design and process improvement proposals
Work closely with design and manufacturing engineers to develop validate and incorporate Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements
Collaboration: Collaborate with design manufacturing and engineering teams to provide technical input on design feasibility manufacturability and dimensional considerations
GD&T Application: Expertise in interpreting and applying GD&T standards to fixture design ensuring that parts fit and function according to precise dimensional specifications
Tolerance Stack-up Analysis: Ability to evaluate and minimize tolerance stack-ups in the fixture design which can affect the final assemblys quality and performance

Typical Day in the Role

Purpose of the Team:

This team is a part of the Manufacturing & Engineering umbrella.
Their main focus is on quality standards of client products.
The team will identify any product changes contacts vendors companies for parts place Purchase Orders and design any new equipment required for manufacturing.
After finalization the team will hand-over the updated products to maintenance and manufacturing team to put into production.
The day to day will never replicate one another and there are constant changes happening on the team.

Years of Experience Required: 5 overall years of experience in the field.
Degrees or certifications required: Bachelors Degree in Engineering STEM or related field or equivalent relevant education preference
Disqualifiers: Candidates not local to Arizona & do not have hard skill requirements.
Best vs. Average: Ability to cross-collaborate and provide innovative thinking and ideas.
Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on meeting deadlines and quality of work.

Minimum 5 years experience with Strong level GD&T qualification (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance)
Minimum 5 years Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD SolidWorks or similar)
Minimum 5 years experience with Strong analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy

Expected Dates that Hard Skills Assessments will be scheduled: ASAP
Hard Skills Assessment Process: The assessment process will include 2 rounds - 1 with a teammate 1 with manager

You bring:

Bachelors Degree in Engineering STEM or related field or equivalent relevant education and experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a dimensional engineering role preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
Strong level GD&T qualification

Software Skills:

Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD SolidWorks or similar) and measurement analysis software is a plus

Problem-Solving Abilities:

Strong analytical skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
Ability to identify and resolve dimensional and quality issues
Communication: Excellent communication skills to work effectively with team members management and external vendors
Certification in dimensional measurement or quality control (e.g. Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Six Sigma)
Experience with advanced metrology tools and techniques
Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and other quality management systems
