Job Description
Position: Custodial Support Office

Purpose of Position:
The office custodian maintains a clean and safe working environment for all staff and visitors by ensuring all areas are sanitized organized and free of hazards thereby contributing to the overall productivity and safety of the manufacturing facility.
Major Responsibilities:
Sanitization and Cleaning:
Clean and sanitize bathrooms wipe down partitions including polishing fixtures.
Clean and sanitize Lunchroom wipe down tables/chairs/surfaces clean microwaves clean coffee machine area.
Clean and sanitize Offices and Entrances.
Replenish all consumables (e.g. soap tissue towels air freshener).
Clean mop wash buff and vacuum floors as appropriate to the surface type.
Clean windows glass partitions and mirrors using appropriate cleaning solutions.
Dust Printers/Copiers window ledges blinds and other surfaces.
Waste Management:
Empty trash and recycling bins ensuring proper segregation of materials.
Remove recycling materials to designated containers.
Manage hazardous waste disposal following safety protocols and regulations.
Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs for the facility.
Safety:
Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are stored safely.
Identify and report potential safety hazards in the facility.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Additional Duties:
Support facility maintenance tasks as needed such as minor repairs.
Assist with setting up and cleaning up after company events.
Perform other related duties as required.
Position Type and Hours of Work:
This is a full-time hourly position.
The candidate should demonstrate exemplary character self-motivation and excellent decision-making skills.
The candidate should be able to work well with others in a professional polite and friendly manner and engage positively with fellow employees and guests across various departments and levels of responsibility.
Days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Friday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (40 hours per week).
Qualifications and Competencies:
Experience
oHigh school diploma or equivalent.
oMinimum of 1 year of custodial experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment desired.
oFamiliarity with the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
oProven experience operating industrial vacuum.
oKnowledge of OSHA safety standards and guidelines.
Knowledge and Skills:
oKnowledge of cleaning and preserving floors walls surfaces furnishings and fixtures.
oProficiency in operating custodial tools and power equipment such as vacuums.
oAbility to perform moderately heavy manual work including lifting and moving items over 25 pounds.
oCapacity to climb ladders and stairs safely.
oAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.
oStrong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. This position is very active and requires standing walking bending kneeling stooping and crouching throughout the day. The employee must be able to lift and move items over 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed in an indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to dust grease oil odors and cleaning agents. The custodian must adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
