Job Description:
An Electricianinstalls maintains and repairs electrical systems wiring and equipment in various settings like homes businesses and industrial facilities ensuring safety and compliance with codes.Key duties include troubleshooting electrical problems reading blueprints and replacing components like fixtures and circuit breakers.They must adhere to national and local safety regulations often requiring specific training and licensing.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation:Install electrical components wiring fixtures control systems and equipment in new or existing structures.
- Maintenance:Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment to prevent outages and ensure proper functioning.
- Repair:Troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions faulty wiring and defective equipment.
- Inspection & Testing:Inspect and test electrical systems circuits and equipment to ensure safety functionality and code compliance.
- Reading & Interpreting:Read and interpret blueprints wiring diagrams and schematics to plan and execute installations and repairs.
- Safety Compliance:Adhere to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other safety regulations and legislation ensuring a safe work environment.
- Documentation:Maintain accurate records of work performed repairs made and materials used for compliance and safety audits.
- Collaboration:Coordinate with other tradespeople contractors and project managers to ensure timely completion of projects.
