What you will be doing
You will be on a development pathway to guide your growth into the role of Payload Systems Analyst working on telecom payload projects with a strong focus on RF and payload system performance analysis and can expect to be involved in the following:
Analysis of payload system architectures and end to end telecom systems performing performance analysis trade-offs at payload and sub-system level complete with preparation of analysis review and compilation of written reports and presentations for our customers
Support the on-ground and in-orbit test campaigns and the analysis of test results working hand-in-hand with the Assembly Integration and Test operations team (working in clean room environment)
Extensive use of modelling tools such as Matlab Python or Keysight ADS for analysis and modelling of payload end to end or sub-system performances and Microsoft Office and Gsuite for presentation of technical information to the customer and customer reviews
This position will allow the graduate to learn about cutting edge satellite and payload technology telecommunication satellite missions and key satellite performance parameters and analysis including link budget parameters such as G/T and EIRP to support the business in delivering on-going and future telecommunication satellite projects bids proposals and studies
The graduate will learn to apply degree level RF and telecommunications aspects including (but not limited to) signal modulation signal impairments in a communication system systems engineering theory and develop further technical understanding of communication aspects such as digital and analogue beam-forming transparent and regenerative processing techniques
Rotational placement activities; a current example being a placement within our internal equipment manufacturer in the design offices laboratory and a cleanroom environment experiencing direct practical hands-on design and development and application of theory to design manufacturing and test validation processes
Your development pathway will include a minimum of one rotational placement to support your growth into position.
Throughout the two year development programme you will have developed into the position of Payload Analyst!
What we are looking for
To be a successful applicant to the Airbus Global Graduate Programme you will need to demonstrate you have:
A degree level or equivalent within a relevant field of study
Recently graduated or first professional experience in the field of any of the following;
Electrical / Electronic engineering
Telecommunications or Communications
Satellite Systems Engineering
Mathematics
Physics
Strong verbal and written communication in our business language (English)
A desire to work in a collaborative team environment focused on driving future innovation
The ability to be self aware and a wish to be in the driving seat of your development.
A strong motivation for Systems Engineering in the space industry
Some knowledge of Microwave / RF Engineering Antenna design or other wireless technology
AND / OR any of the following - RF equipment equipment performances test equipment and test techniques
AND / OR any of the following - Satellite Communication Systems Antenna or Payload Systems Software Defined Radio or Digital Signal Processing
A fundamental understanding of RF communication signal design techniques (e.g. modulation encoding filtering)
Proficiency with Programming languages (e.g. any of the following - Python MATLAB Octave Visual Basic)
Experience with modelling software used for end-to-end RF communication chains (e.g. any of the following desirable but not essential - Keysight ADS SystemVue Ansys STK HFSS CST TICRA)
