KEY OBJECTIVE:
This position will underwrite Excess & Umbrella Casualty Major Accounts risks within the Excess & Specialty Casualty department for Chubb Canada. The key objective is to ensure that growth and profitability are achieved by focusing on product process and producer development for the Canadian marketplace.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Excess & Umbrella Casualty business: Retain. Grow. Service. Cross Sell:
Profitably manage a renewal book of large accounts with a focus on retaining desired business through appropriate risk selection coverage negotiation and pricing adequacy;
Generate new business revenues by developing and managing target account lists visiting brokers participating in direct presentations and negotiating programs and cross marketing within the Chubb organization;
Risk selection coverage negotiation and pricing adequacy on new and renewal business.
A strong focus on customer retention and relationship management.
Cross Sell Chubb:
Cross sell and work with other product lines to utilize and build-out existing customer and broker relationships within the Chubb network globally including P&C A&H Financial Lines and PRS.
Responsible for success of assigned book of business
Completion of University degree / College diploma / or equivalent insurance-related education and experience.
Professional industry designation (e.g. CIP FCIP or CRM) or actively pursuing same considered an asset.
A minimum of 3 years of previous casualty underwriting experience; experience with US risks and umbrella & excess liability programs for global operations is preferred.
Flexibility creativity and adaptability in handling domestic and global business in order to develop new opportunities and provide continued value to existing clients.
Demonstrated analytical and risk underwriting skills that applies directly to selection pricing account handling and book management including industry trends legal regulatory and jurisdictional issues.
Superior negotiation skills proven through established broker relationships.
Strong marketing ability combined with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated track record of customer service orientation and proven ability to foster strong business relationships.
Ability to travel occasionally as required.
