Job Description

Backed by Marguerite a leading pan-European infrastructure fund Nexun is a fast-growing renewable project development platform active in Spain France Germany Italy Poland and Austria. Our experienced executive team leverages geographic information systems (GIS) to identify and develop high-quality solar PV projects across Europe.

Tasks

We are seeking a Legal Associate to join our in-house legal team in Hamburg. The role will focus primarily on Germany while supporting cross-border legal matters across Europe. The Legal Associate will provide legal guidance on renewable project development land acquisition regulatory compliance stakeholder negotiations contract management and participation in M&A and joint venture processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support renewable project development teams with legal advice and documentation
  • Draft review and negotiate contracts including land agreements and partnership contracts
  • Address regulatory and compliance matters related to renewable energy projects
  • Contribute to M&A and joint venture processes providing transactional support
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders across Europe
  • Conduct legal research and provide solutions to complex legal issues
  • Maintain flexibility to handle tasks beyond standard responsibilities in a small boutique team

Requirements

  • Law degree (JD or equivalent) with legal qualification in Germany
  • 46 years of professional experience in an in-house role or law firm preferably within renewable energy; candidates with general energy real estate or corporate/transactional experience will also be considered
  • Fluent in German and English; additional languages are a plus
  • Experience in cross-border legal contexts
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and solution-driven mindset
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a small dynamic team
  • Candidates based in Hamburg or willing to relocate will be prioritized
