We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Six Sigma Black Belt with a proven track record of 6 to 8 years in leading and executing complex process improvement projects. The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented professional with a deep understanding of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and a passion for driving a culture of continuous improvement. This individual will be responsible for identifying and prioritizing high-impact projects mentoring and coaching Green Belts and other team members and delivering significant and sustainable business results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership and Execution: Lead and manage cross-functional teams to execute large-scale Lean Six Sigma projects from conception to completion utilizing the DMAIC (Define Measure Analyze Improve Control) and other relevant methodologies.
- Strategic Initiative Identification: Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities that align with strategic business objectives and deliver the greatest return on investment.
- Data-Driven Analysis: Employ advanced statistical analysis and data-driven techniques to identify root causes of process inefficiencies and defects. Utilize statistical software such as Minitab JMP or R to analyze complex data sets.
- Mentorship and Coaching: Serve as a subject matter expert in Lean Six Sigma providing guidance mentorship and training to Green Belts and other project team members to build their problem-solving capabilities.
- Change Management: Act as a change agent within the organization effectively communicating the benefits of process improvements to stakeholders at all levels and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Best Practice Development: Develop and standardize best practices for process improvement across the organization ensuring consistent and effective application of Lean Six Sigma principles.
- Reporting and Communication: Develop and present compelling business cases project updates and final results to senior management and other key stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills:
Required: - Certification: Certified Six Sigma Black Belt from a reputable organization (e.g. ASQ IASSC).
- Experience: A minimum of 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in a dedicated Six Sigma or continuous improvement role.
- Project Portfolio: A portfolio of successfully completed Black Belt projects with documented financial and operational benefits.
- Methodology Expertise: In-depth knowledge of both DMAIC and DMADV (Define Measure Analyze Design Verify) methodologies.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead influence and motivate cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred: - Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Statistics or a related field. A Masters degree is a plus.
- Industry Experience: Experience in Insurance is desirable.
- Lean Expertise: Strong understanding and practical application of Lean principles and tools (e.g. Value Stream Mapping Kaizen 5S).
- Master Black Belt Aspiration: A desire to progress towards a Master Black Belt role.
