Job Summary:
This position is for a Radiation Therapist in an acute care hospital setting. The role involves providing radiation therapy treatments to patients requiring proficiency in radiation oncology techniques and adherence to safety protocols. The therapist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team maintain accurate records and ensure patient comfort and well-being throughout the treatment process.
Location: Napa California United States
Responsibilities:
- Administering radiation therapy treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with the radiation oncology team.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.
- Ensuring patient safety and comfort during treatment.
- Operating and maintaining radiation therapy equipment.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Performing quality assurance checks and maintaining equipment calibration.
- Educating patients and families about the treatment process.
- Adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current license as a Radiation Therapist in the state of employment.
- BLS certification.
- ARRT certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience (first-timers accepted).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Special Considerations:
- Weekend call is required 8am-4pm on a rotating basis.
- No floating between units.
- Block scheduling may be possible per manager discretion.
- RTO must be included at time of submission.
- Facility allows one call-off per two-week pay period.
Scheduling:
- Variable shifts starting between 6am and 8am.
- Day shifts ranging from 6am to 6pm (1800) depending on patient schedule.
- 8-hour shifts.
