Job Description Summary

This role sits within flat peer-to-peer CRM TA Access organization in International V&A and the leadership opportunity is to lead by influence.

Director International V&A & HCSR will lead Integrated Product Access strategy development / access expansion for launch /pipeline assets in key LMICs development of Health care system readiness strategy in top 11 markets in close collaboration with TA Value & Access x-functional teams Regions & countries.

You will partner with key LMICs to develop LMIC Integrated product access strategy expand access to Novartis brands engage with global teams to provide early access inputs for pipeline this role you will be highly skilled at understanding overall business strategy International Integrated product access strategy identifying pain points challenges key access barriers across the disease pathway & developing appropriate access strategy for LMICs to help more patients live better lives.
You will lead development of heath care solutions to enable improved patient access to drive change and create positive impact on healthcare ecosystem by bringing holistic solutions to address key challenges access this role you will be highly skilled at understanding health systems within countries identifying pain points challenges key access barriers across the disease pathway & developing appropriate health system strengthening interventions.



Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Access strategy for key launches / access strategy expansion for LMICs:
  • Strategy development & implementation: Lead Access strategy development & expansion for upcoming launches/ pipeline products in International in close collaboration with TA Value & Access x-functional teams Regions & countries.
  • Set short- mid- and long-term goals for access strategy development / expansion for in market brands & new launches in CRM. Ensure the short and long-term systemic consequences of actions are considered when making implementation decisions. Regularly reports progress against standardized set of KPIs
  • Support regions and countries in LMICs to maintain dialogue with global stakeholder on access challenges opportunities for upcoming launches strategy design and implementation. Provide inputs on LMIC pricing considerations for new launches/pipeline products.
  • Health care system readiness strategy in Priority International markets:
  • Lead health system readiness strategy for key launches in close collaboration with x-functional teams in International. Closely collaborate with CLS TA Regions & Countries to identify and help build HCSR strategy for International.
  • Ensure health system readiness in priority international markets for launches. Develop and execute HCSR strategy to support access expansion develops health care solutions to drive change and create positive impact on healthcare ecosystem by bringing holistic solutions to address key challenges access barriers.
  • Partners with TA countries regions x-functional teams (CLSTA Patient advocacy medical policy Launch excellence) supports early market shaping activities advises countries on health systems readiness health care solutions with subject-matter expertise and provide technical assistance in design implementation of HCSR solutions.
  • Operational Excellence: collaborate with regions and countries to support access strategy development expansion & implementation. Coordinate regular health systems calls internally & with external stakeholders/experts. Liaise with country region to ensure alignment on HCSR topics. Enable and build collaboration cross-functionally to build HCSR capabilities & develop HCSR solutions that addresses patient and healthcare system needs.
  • Collaborate with relevant functions develop/implement governance to ensure that LMIC access strategy & HCSR strategies are delivered consistent with Novartis Access Principles / Business Standards facilitate best practice sharing
  • Ensure appropriate Ethics Risks compliance procedures are followed as per company policies and procedures

Essential requirements:

  • Graduate / Postgraduate degree in medicines sciences business administration public health health economics or other relevant qualification.
  • 10 years of extensive experience acquired at pharmaceutical companies with at least 5 years in Market Access/Health systems roles.
  • Strong negotiation skills knowledge of access environment in relevant countries knowledge of Pricing health care & healthcare financing in key emerging V&A knowledge technical experience and the ability to articulate trade-offs between countries regions and provide enterprise wide thinking in decision making
  • Strong background in health systems thinking combining pragmatic understanding of healthcare business models solutions with access focus. Background experience in shaping health policy and/or health system reform in country.
  • Strong management interpersonal and problem-solving skills Agile mindset & ability to lead in an agile organization. Able to establish credibility and influence across a range of diverse stakeholders in a matrix organization to drive change.
  • Strong communication skills written and oral. Demonstrated experience in data presentation.
  • Accountable: make things happen; take responsibility for execution; speaks up and voices opinion. Operational experience as country cluster patient access head Franchise Head / Global region patient access role / New products Franchise role in country/cluster/ region with strong understanding of market access health systems would be an added advantage.
