Job Description
For an international company in Bioggio TI - we are looking for a Oracle Database Specialist
- Create and operate Oracle databases for development testing education and production on Unix/Linux.
- Perform capacity planning continuous performance tuning and reorganizations to ensure availability and performance.
- Install evaluate and upgrade Oracle RDBMS versions and related tools.
- Plan and implement database backup and recovery strategies.
- Control migrations of programs schema/database changes reference data and menus across the SDLC.
- Implement and enforce security standards for all Oracle databases.
- Support and execute migrations to Oracle Cloud (OCI) or other cloud providers.
- Provide technical support to application development teams; conduct impact analysis for DB object changes.
- Troubleshoot database application and tooling issues.
- Keep all operational/support documentation current for audit readiness.
- IaC & Automation: Declare infrastructure in Terraform for Oracle OCI AWS Azure and a private cloud; drive continuous improvement and automation of operations and processes.
- Set up operate monitor and maintain systems required to deliver the services.
-->At least 4 days/week in the office; 1 day remote (must be within Switzerland)
- 5 years of solid Oracle DBA experience.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud (OCI).
- Proven experience implementing and operating Oracle databases on Unix/Linux.
- Strong shell scripting skills.
- Practical Infrastructure as Code experience: Ansible Terraform Git.
- Strong CI/CD experience.
- Demonstrated experience migrating on-prem solutions to cloud.
- MSSQL and/or PostgreSQL DBA experience. (Nice to Have)
- Exadata and RAC experience. (Nice to Have)
- Oracle APEX knowledge. (Nice to Have)
- Proven coding know-how and DevOps experience. (Nice to Have)
- Advanced Ansible expertise. (Nice to Have)
