A role you will love
Join Equatexs Legal Risk & Compliance Department in Zurich as Senior Legal Counsel (100%) reporting to the Group General Counsel & Chief Risk Officer. This role offers great exposure and interactions with various functions within the business allowing you to continuously learn and grow within your role. You will be on-hand to help support and guide both internal and external stakeholders on all Legal & Compliance matters.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Provide expert legal advice to the company on a wide range of issues including contracts commercial law IT/IP law banking law data privacy law corporate governance and regulatory matters
Draft review and negotiate agreementsboth with clients and service providers
Ensure the company complies with all relevant laws and regulations including financial regulations and data protection laws
Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with legal requirements
Identify and assess legal risks and provide strategic advice to mitigate these risks
Conduct training sessions for employees on compliance-related topics
Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations and take corrective action when necessary
The team you will be joining is highly collaborative with everyone working closely together and supporting one another. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across a broad range of responsibilities allowing you to build hands-on experience across all aspects of legal and compliance of a regulated Swiss financial institution. You will have regular interaction and engagement with senior management.

Other key required for the role:
University law degree
LL.M. in English or work experience in English preferred
At least 8 years in-house or law firm experience
Experience in contract negotiations
Excellent communication skills. Highly proficient in English and German (spoken and written)
Sound legal judgement and attention to detail. Develops pragmatic solutions addressing the legal challenges
Self-driven and engaging personality. Can think outside of the box and has an entrepreneurial spirit a delivery-driven mindset and a hands-on attitude
Team player who can thrive in dynamic and multinational environments and deal with stressful situations
Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrates confidence when dealing with key clients/stakeholders and senior management
