As a Senior Linux Engineer at Axpo Services AG you will play a crucial role in the development and operation of Linux systems within a hybrid cloud environment. Your expertise will also extend to VMware SAN storage and data backup systems ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
What you will do:
- Develop and operate Linux VMware SAN (storage) and data protection systems and associated applications.
- Support automation and cloud migration initiatives with expertise in Infrastructure as Code and container technologies.
- Ensure high competence in system and application maintenance within the team.
- Act as a consultant for internal and external stakeholders on systems and IT infrastructure projects.
- Implement systems and applications transparently meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Maintain IT security and compliance with established specifications.
What you bring & who you are:
- Knowledge about SAN systems like Pure Storage or similar.
- Bachelor or Masters degree in computer science with extensive experience in Linux storage and data backup.
- Proven experience in agile teams and a strong understanding of SLAs/OLAs.
- Excellent knowledge of Linux (SLES/Ubuntu) systems in hybrid cloud environments and cloud migration planning.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform Ansible).
- Familiarity with cloud providers like Azure or AWS and server environments such as VMware.
- Strong team player with high customer orientation and analytical thinking skills.
