Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Team Leader to join our Middle Office department where you will oversee the new Credit risk Operations team & Collateral Management as first line of this key leadership role you will be responsible for managing both the day-to-day operations and the people within your team working closely with the Senior management.

Team Management:

  • Leading and supporting a team:
    • Fostering a positive work atmosphere where employees feel motivated valued and connected to the team and the organization.
    • Promoting collaboration trust and cohesion among team members.
    • Addressing any potential conflicts among team members to your senior management and/or HR Partner
    • Supporting employee growth through training mentorship coaching and advancement opportunities.
  • Hiring:
    • Leading the recruitment process with your Talent Acquisition Partner
    • Ensuring new hires are properly introduced to the team the organization its culture policies and their specific roles.
  • Performance Management: Setting performance expectations providing feedback conducting performance reviews and addressing any performance issues.
  • Conducting under performance process with the help of your Senior Management and HR Partner.

Operations management:

  • Lead and take part in the teams operational tasks :

Collateral Management

    • Onboarding and maintenance of counterparty data in the collateral management platform
    • Daily management and monitoring of collateral requirements including margin calls position and exposure reconciliations and dispute resolution
    • Management of interest on posted collateral
    • Reporting on collateral positions and related risk metrics to Risk Treasury and Finance teams

Credit & Interest Management

    • First point of contact for requests related to secured and unsecured credit including Lombard loans (to come) credit lines and bridge loans - Incl. evaluation and validation of initial request based on predefined policy and financial and risk criteria.
    • Management of the related tasks of leasing activity
    • Supervision of interest accruals payment schedules and maintenance of client-specific interest rate tables
    • Coordination with Risk Finance and Treasury departments for reporting purposes
  • Initiate and guide internal projects in order to improve internal tools and optimize processes
  • Set up and follow-up of KPIs (workload team performance and projections)
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and counterparts
  • Assist Senior leadership in the strategic planning of the Middle Office activities

Responsibilities include:

  • Financial and risk-based analysis for credit applications and decision-making
  • Ongoing monitoring of pledged assets (for specifics asset classes)
  • Tracking interest accruals and ensuring timely client payments
  • Maintaining and updating interest rate tables applicable to different credit products
  • Setting initial margin requirements and monitoring daily margin calls based on exposure
  • Onboarding counterparties in internal systems (incl. OSTTRA) and reconciling positions relevant to collateral
  • Maintaining operational accounts (e.g. in Settlement Tool and internal systems)
  • Calculating interest on posted collateral and ensuring accurate payments

Qualifications :

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Loan/Credit Services Margin or Collateral Management
  • Previous experience in a leadership role is required
  • Ability to work effectively in both English and French environments
  • Strong managerial skills including the ability to lead motivate and develop team members to achieve objectives effectively
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple tasks in a deadline-driven and constantly evolving environment
  • Excellent communication skills results-oriented team player
  • Experience with Osttra or any collateral management tool T24 (Temenos or similar solution) and GTMatch/GTExchange is a strong advantage
