PPLE is looking for a tutor with a masters (or equivalent) degree in Psychology who will contribute to our community. The ideal candidate has an international outlook and can teach multiple tutorial classes during a block including interdisciplinary courses and courses specific to the Psychology major.
PPLE is a small scale interdisciplinary Bachelors programme. Class sizes of the tutorials are between 12 and 17 students and student attendance is mandatory. Tutorials therefore require an active involvement of each student. As a tutor you will deliver material that enables students to work together and learn how to understand and apply course material. Tutors work within a team to align on meeting course objectives delivering tutorials and grading assignments and exams.
PPLE College actively promotes students personal development and academic competencies. PPLE College uses a mentor system to help students with their academic progress and offer guidance throughout their the second year of the contract tutors can become a mentor for a group of around 15 students.
PPLE College follows the UvAs 8-8-4 schedule or block the 1st 2nd 4th and 5th block students take two courses consecutively. Per course they have 2x2 hours of lectures and 2x2 hours of tutorials per week. During blocks 3 (January) and 6 (June) students take a 4-week course.
The successful PPLE Tutor for Psychology has a masters degree in the field of (Social) Psychology and ideally experience with one of the other PPLE disciplines namely Political Science Law or Economics & Business. We are specifically looking for candidates who can teach courses in Personality and Identity Political Psychology Psychology and Society (I and II) Motivation and Cognition and Solidarity. You can find more information about them on the UvA course catalogue page. You should also be able to teach modules in (quasi-)experimental design and quantitative research methods using statistical software common in the social sciences (e.g. SPSS).

We offer a 4-year employment contract with a two-month probationary period preferably starting 20 October 2025 for about 22.8 30.4 hours per week (0.6 - 0.8 FTE) depending on availability of teaching tasks and the candidates expertise. The employment contract ends after 4 years and cannot be extended.
PPLE College requires teaching staff to join tutor trainings twice per year. The contract includes time for training and development. For tutors who become an academic mentor a coaching training will be offered for which you will receive a recognised the second or third year you can pursue the University Teaching Qualification (UTQ) / Basis Kwalificatie Onderwijs (BKO) which is recognised by all Dutch universities. The UvA also offers a wide range of courses and training programmes in areas such as talent and career development effective (team) working and health and vitality.
Your salary depending on your relevant experience on commencement of the employment contract ranges between 3.546 to 5.538 gross per month on the basis of a full working week of 38 addition you will receive 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% year-end allowance. The Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (CAO NU) is applicable.
In addition to this you will also become part of an enjoyable PPLE community of support staff tutors and lecturers. To help nourish the bonds in our community we host group outings a few times a year and have lunches provided to the office twice a week.

PPLE College offers students an academic programme focused on the challenges science and society face at the intersections of its four disciplines.
