Youll reshape the supply base lock in cost/cash wins raise quality & delivery performance and sit at the table for NPI decisionsinfluencing material selection and DFX early not after the PO. This is a highly visible role partnering across Engineering Operations Quality Finance and Logistics with clear runway to Director/Senior Director. What youll lead
Drive category strategy and complex auditable contract negotiations; select and steer strategic suppliers to meet cost cash service and technology roadmaps.
Build a high-performing supplier portfolio: scorecards site audits credit/organizational reviews and continuous improvement tied to PPV OTD PPM inventory turns.
Be the sourcing voice in NPI: qualify new/updated materials coordinate samples and lead approval/inspection with Quality & Engineering.
Set inventory targets; forecast swings; cut obsolescence/scrap; expand VMI and kanban where it makes sense.
Troubleshoot quality/continuity risks fast to prevent line-down and adverse costs; own root cause and corrective actions with suppliers.
Monitor market logistics and regulatory shifts; brief leadership on risks/opportunities and execute mitigation plans.
Ensure trade compliance (country of origin HTS codes) and international shipping requirements.
Provide day-to-day direction to buyers; mentor the team and elevate sourcing discipline across the business.
What you bring
7 years in strategic sourcing/commodity management with a track record negotiating complex procurement and delivering measurable results.
Bachelors in Business Economics Engineering or related field.
Strength in supplier relationship management cross-functional leadership and clear executive communication.
Working knowledge of mechanical/electrical components and common manufacturing processes; able to engage engineering at a technical level.
Experience with MRP (JDE a plus) and advanced Excel/analytics; comfortable managing projects from strategy through implementation.
Willingness for domestic and occasional international travel.
