Job Summary:
As a Data Scientist within our team you will take ownership of data-driven tasks developing approaches and processes to achieve goals with an emphasis on advanced programming research and analytics. You will collaborate directly with key stakeholders across functions and lines-of-business effectively operating in a senior analyst capacity.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with a wide range of proprietary industry-standard and open-source data stores and tools to assemble organize and analyze data.
- Convert data into actionable insights.
- Utilize data visualization tools to effectively communicate findings.
- Leverage statistical and mathematical techniques and algorithms to solve complex business problems.
- Design controlled experiments to test and validate hypotheses.
- Translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.
Required Qualifications Capabilities and Skills:
- Deep understanding of data structure and strong SQL skills.
- Experience using statistical programming languages (Python R) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
- Practical understanding of advanced statistics A/B testing machine learning and data mining.
- Ability to explain and convert complex concepts into digestible information for audiences at various levels of the business.
- Strong storytelling capabilities.
- Aptitude for learning new theory and new technology.
- Degree in Data Science Applied Mathematics Statistics Engineering Computer Science or similar STEM discipline.
Preferred Qualifications Capabilities and Skills:
- Masters Degree with 2 years of advanced analytics experience.
- Functional industry experience in finance operations sales marketing credit/risk or technology.
- Knowledge of the mortgage industry.
