Food Service Worker (Storeroom)

Position Summary:

The Food Service Worker under general supervision and in accordance with specific instructions prepares food and work areas for serving food and beveragesto patients visitors and staff. Greets customers fills customer orders and responds to concerns.

Education:

Work requires a level of math and English as normally acquired through the completion of an eighth-gradeeducation. Work requiresthe ability to read and follow instructions.

Licensure/Certifications:

None. Serve safe sanitation class desirable

Experience:

Requires one to three months on-the-job orientation to acquire necessary familiarity with department policies and procedures workroutines and to learn to operate area-specific equipment. Previous work experience in food service is preferred

Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of operating kitchen/cafeteria equipment according to area of assignment (i.e. cafeteria trayline sanitationstoreroom production Grille 601 catering Corridor Cafe). Examples include: steam table dishmachine coffee urnsoda dispenser grill toaster pizza oven food slicer warmer trash bins and similar equipment.
• Requires the ability to operate standard kitchen machinery and read menus work schedules and prices. Requires abilityto interact effectively with hospital patients visitors and staff and to provide courteous service. Requires flexibility tocross-train in various positions.

Full-Time (40 hours per week)

Salary Range: Minimum15.61per hour - Maximum18.11per will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
