What Youll Do
- Inspects tests repairs fabricates alters and installs a wide variety of electrical power communication and instrumental equipment including controlling devices and wiring systems electromechanical technical equipment radio networks and power system failure responses
- Determines necessary corrective action and completes restoration to service
- Operates machinery tools and complex test equipment as necessary
Minimum Job Requirements
- Requires trade school or apprenticeship training with four years of applicable industrial electrical and electronics experience or equivalent combination.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Engergy clearance is required Position may require entry into Material Access Areas(MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph pursuant to 10 CFR 709.
- In addition the applicant must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2A: (i.e. High School diploma; or a DOE O 426.2A alternative).
Preferred Job Requirements
- The ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings and data sketches wiring diagrams manufacturers guides and oral instructions is necessary.
- A working knowledge of the National Electrical Codes and electrical safe work practices is essential.
- Subject to requirements of obtaining an appropriate Commercial Drivers License.

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
