Role Purpose:
The British Council Sri Lanka is looking for a Consultant Sales and Customer Management English to deliver customer management and sales functions for our English Language Teaching Centre. The role involves achieving sales targets and global KPIs supporting new team members with onboarding and fostering a strong sales culture.
The post holder will ensure a positive efficient and high-quality experience for customers clients and stakeholders while acting as an ambassador for the British Council. This includes handling enquiries about English language services and contributing to team success by meeting agreed objectives and performance standards.
Main Accountabilities:
This position is central to ensuring a seamless customer journey from handling enquiries through to enrolment while upholding the organisations brand values and service standards.
The role involves providing a consistent and positive customer experience in line with global strategies and policies managing first and second level enquiries across multiple channels and ensuring that all reception registration and customer-facing spaces reflect the British Council brand. The post holder will be responsible for accurate data recording maintaining up-to-date customer contact databases supporting child protection and safeguarding policies and contributing insights to the Voice of the Customer programme.
On the sales front the consultant will be accountable for meeting agreed income and conversion targets guiding prospective customers through the journey from enquiry to registration and maximising opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling. This includes proactive follow-ups outbound calls and ensuring that all opportunities are captured and tracked through the CRM system. The post holder will work to improve conversion rates by communicating the benefits of our services overcoming objections and sharing insights with business teams.
In addition the consultant will provide support to the Teaching Centre through accurate student registration and financial reconciliation processes supporting marketing and academic quality plans and contributing to events such as open days parent sessions and promotional activities. A key part of the role is mentoring and coaching new team members ensuring they are equipped to handle customer interactions effectively and contribute to the teams success.
This is a customer-facing role requiring professionalism strong communication and sales skills and the ability to deliver high-quality service under pressure. The Consultant Sales and Customer Management English will act as an ambassador for the British Council ensuring that every customer interaction reflects our commitment to excellence.

Work Schedule:
This position offers two days off per week; however these days may not always fall on weekends. Saturday and Sunday are considered working days unless assigned as days off based on the roster. Days off are scheduled on a rotating basis following a two-month roster cycle which determines which days an employee has off during each period. The working hours will be 9 AM to 5 PM however extra working hours may be required on occasions where there is a business need.
