SUMMARY
Provide leadership for all aspects of the Flex Health program ensuring high-quality student-centered instruction. Guide and facilitate student learning in a flexible self-paced format across health-related courses. Oversee and coordinate classroom skills lab clinical and online instruction. Deliver a competency-based curriculum that includes theory hands-on training clinical experience and professionalism needed for licensure. Support student success through effective instruction supervision and program responsibilities as directed by administration.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Hold a valid unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma.
- Bachelors Degree in nursing and a minimum of three years of successful work experience within the last five years as a nurse and/or a nursing instructor.
- Maintain AHA BLS CPR card.
Preference may be given for one or more of the following: Current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Biology and/or Health Careers Education with health-related experience; Masters Degree in Nursing; Five years of career tech teaching and/or educational administration experience; Oklahoma Secondary Principals Certification; Oklahoma Technology Center Administrators Credential; proven successful educational administration experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required. - Supervision and instruction of all adult students enrolled in the program.
- Maintain the Learning Management System and instruct students on system use.
- Maintain a regular schedule of office hours for online programs.
- Provide competency-based individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of instructional techniques.
- Develop a professional teacher-student relationship to assist students in dealing with personal social and educational challenges; and recognize students personal developmental and educational challenges and provide internal referrals as appropriate for student success.
- Assist the coordinator with maintaining appropriate staff-student ratios.
- Responsible for direct oversight of the Flex Health Nurse Refresher program.
- Maintain accurate records of student course tracking including but not limited to: attendance AHA BLS CPR academic progress clinical records immunization records and all other records required for certification.
- Maintain the quality and inventory of equipment supplies and materials in accordance with district policies and procedures.
- Ensure that students are prepared to take and successfully pass the certification test for which they qualify.
- Organize time effectively for classroom instruction laboratory work and cleanup activities.
- Participate in the advisory committee as directed.
- Work with adjunct instructors and serve as a mentor to ensure new students receive adequate orientation to the Flex Health program.
- Supervise students as needed at clinical activities
- Perform student skills check-offs for district-related health programs as needed.
- Obtain CPR Instructor certification and support the department as needed.
- Uphold the districts mission vision values and goals.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement with a strong focus on positive student achievement.
- Other duties as assigned
Work Environment:

Steady physical activity is required during days of clinical rotations consisting of walking and standing. Strenuous physical activity is required intermittently when assisting in moving patients and/or equipment. Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which standard precautions apply requiring the use of personal protective equipment that must be worn in the circumstances (Category I and II). Must be able to provide documented evidence of current vaccinations and/or tests as required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Reliable dependable and punctual attendance. This is not an exhaustive list and reasonable accommodations will be made as needed.
