This role is part of the R&D Measurement Sciences team a team focused on smart data driving decisions and insights through efficient data generation interpretation and communication.
The Associate Scientist coordinates workload tests samples and reports analytical data for a core Quality program for analytical monitoring of snacks and convenience food products within North America. The focus of this role is on Regulatory Testing using LC/MS Analysis and supporting equipment/processes.
Responsibilities
Perform laboratory analyses using LC/MS following standard operating procedures. Interpret data calculate and report results.
Document all test data in LIMS and communicate results in an accurate and timely manner to all stakeholders according to established turnaround time requirements.
Responsible for data review identifying interferences in chromatography sample retests control charting and product/platform trend analysis.
Conduct/lead special testing projects to optimize testing process and reduce turnaround time as related to regulatory testing.
May communicate with R&D or Operations regarding product management/ sampling processes.
Report data into a laboratory information management system.
Maintain accurate equipment quality records and assure the reliability of measurement systems by using appropriate Good Lab Practices (GLP) and established processes.
Responsible for LC/MS (and all test related equipment) troubleshooting & minor repair.
May conduct chemical and physical lab analyses to evaluate the composition of snacks ingredients food products raw materials or quality samples.
May assist in routine wet chemistry or other instrumental analysis.
Support sample preparation (grinding weighing automated sample prep equipment) using proper quality control processes.
Prepare and maintain chemicals solutions sample dilutions and equipment as needed for the performance of analyses.
Manage laboratory supplies. Organize and purge samples on a regular basis.
Follow all appropriate safety procedures including proper PPE as well as other site policies and programs.
Communicate with prep room and/or test requestors (scientists engineers technician management) to ensure samples are processed/analyzed accurately.
Communicate and collaborate with external vendors to optimize and troubleshoot instruments.
Develop/integrate digital processes in the testing area to increase speed to market and ensure long term data storage/security.
Integrate LabVantage functionality into MS regulatory testing processes.
Compensation and Benefits:
The expected compensation range for this position is between $64300 - $107650.
Location confirmed job-related skills experience and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
