Would you like to be part of a value-driven commercially oriented international environment where we enable global trade every day An opportunity exists for an Area Head of Sales to join our team in South Africa.
Reporting to the Area Managing Director the Area Head of Sales will be responsible for developing and delivering the commercial strategy for the Southern Africa & Islands (SAI) Area and delivering agreed budgets for multiple products and services.
You will manage an extensive business portfolio and drive coach upskill and performance manage the sales team in the area. Given your extensive experience and gravitas you should be able to inspire attract build and steer a strong and robust sales organisation. This position will play a key role in the Area Leadership Team and together with colleagues drive transformation forward.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Delivery as per budget:
Lead and set direction for the sales team according to budget delivering volumes growing revenue and optimising profits.
Drive the commercial and digital agenda maximise the value of our brand and develop customer value propositions that will add to revenue and profit.
Coach and drive the sales team to sell and grow the full range of products.
Define and set targets and sales incentives and performance manage towards the targets.
Customer satisfaction:
Constantly adapt sales methodology and introduce digital innovations global initiatives and expert methods to drive the business forward.
Actively monitor local Net Promoter Score (NPS) and drive measures to improve customer satisfaction.
Manage stakeholders across the business:
Lead transformation from the front aligning to overall company strategy.
Ensure best practice sharing across local and global teams.
Manage cross-functional relationships and actively provide input to product teams on product value proposition.
Build and develop a best-in-class sales team:
Ensure succession plans are in place for key roles including own role.
Coach direct reports for success and development.
Manage local engagement.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Minimum 10 years relevant experience as a senior sales manager in Supply Chain Logistics Transportation or service-oriented industries leading high-performing teams.
Relevant Masters or postgraduate degree is preferred.
C-level proven sales leader with extensive experience in driving commercial strategy.
Cross-functional experience (i.e. has collaborated with product services delivery and customers to evaluate opportunities manage expectations and deliver strong results).
Flexible with frequent travel (largely domestic)
Tech savvy passionate about technology and transformation.
High level of business acumen and ability to solve complex logistics problems.
Proven experience leading and developing large teams.
Ability to manage ambiguity.
Self-driven energetic and passionate about customers and their business.
Excellent communication skills in English at a professional level.
